on level 2 i find a robe. that it's described as "runed" indicates that it likely possesses some magical property - probably good, but possibly bad. i used up my only scroll of detect curse, but i still have one of those scrolls that i suspect is a scroll of remove curse, so i'm going to try my luck wearing the robe.

i press SHIFT W for "Wear armor" (lowercase w is for "wield a weapon") and select the robe.

nice! a piece of armor's special properties are revealed upon being worn: this robe provides life-force protection and has a +1 enchantment - it provides one more point of armor than the average robe. it's a nice shade of indigo to boot.

the v key - for "view information about" - gets me a description of the robe, including an explanation of what "positive energy" means.
